Ruth Brodsky Consulting is a higher education consulting firm whose mission is to help students and their parents tackle the transition from high school to higher education. We help with all aspects of the transition. Working closely with students and their parents, we help focus student goals and desires. Examining the student's academic record provides us an opportunity to offer a fresh perspective on some colleges that would be a great fit, but may be less well known to most students.

We help students through the entire admission process, and one of the first things we stress is the need for a structured plan. All of the requirements taken together can be overwhelming, so it is important to develop a step-by-step plan of action to deal with each item in an organized and timely manner. Our thorough knowledge of the admission process provides a safety net for students and parents alike.

Along with working on the various types of applications, we also help students with the dreaded "college essay." This is an important part of the application process, and many students need quite a bit of assistance to achieve their finest effort. We also cover subjects such as, what to look for when visiting a college; how to improve interview skills; and how to explain discrepancies in a student's record.

We are also proud to help students with disabilities of all kinds apply to schools where they can thrive in both the academic and social arenas. Ruth's 50 year career in special education provides a broad base of information to aid students with a variety of disabilities. Over the last few years, we have had students with ADHD, learning disabilities, mobility issues, hearing problems, and emotional problems, to name a few. We specialize in working with students with disabilities.
