Ruth Brodsky has been a special educator for the past 40+ years with specialties in learning disabilities and transition to post-secondary options. Ruth has worked in public and private sectors, as a teacher, learning specialist, and supervisor of teachers. During that time, she advised college bound students in preparation for the SAT/ACT, classroom and test accommodations, and how to evaluate a potential college. For the past 13 years, she has worked as an independent college consultant specializing in students with learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional issues, and physical impairments. She has visited colleges to gain first-hand knowledge of the campuses and the offices of Disability Support Services. In preparation for college, she teaches her clients to become better self-advocates, and to learn the technologies that will help them become more efficient students.

Ruth is a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of America and has presented workshops for the local Maryland affiliate and conferences on the national level. She is also a member of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder), Council for Exceptional Children, and 2e (Twice Exceptional).

Ruth attended University of Maryland and George Washington University, attaining several degrees in special education, culminating in a doctorate in educational leadership. Ruth has also taught at local universities, working with undergraduate and graduate students who were studying to become teachers.
